I have been training working gun-dogs since I first started shooting and competing at Field Trials from 1972.
Although I trial Labs now, the first dogs I trialed and ran in working Tests were Golden Retrievers, one of which ran on the Irish Team at the CLA Game Fair. She qualified twice for the British Championship and several times for the Irish Championship.
I have been very fortunate to have had some good dogs and have made up Field Trial Champions in both breeds.
My judging career started in 1976 and in 1981 I became an A Panel Judge in the English Kennel club.
Since then I have judged working tests and trials at all levels from small club events to international competitions. This year I judged The Irish Championship, an event I have participated in many times and been placed several times.
We are hearing good reports on the standard of German retrievers, so I am looking forward to seeing them in competition and Judging the Bavarian Lions Cup
